A 30-minute DROM Energizer was a huge hit with 650 Waterloo Region and area women at the 13^th annual Inspiring Women’s Health, Wellness & the Art of Resiliency Event held at Bingemans in Kitchener last week.

On Thursday, September 19th, I had the opportunity to lead 650 inspiring and amazing women in the Kitchener-Waterloo community with a fun and exhilarating DROM Energizer. The energy in the room was palpable and, amazingly, I was not nervous or overwhelmed as I stepped onto the stage to lead my biggest DROM Practice thus far.

You see, I know DROM works! I know that when you breathe, notice your surroundings and get focused, you can do amazing things with your body and your mind. I believe in what I do and I’m passionate about the principles behind DROM. I’ve learned not only to put them into my program but also into how I live my life.

It was truly amazing to see so many women get off their seats to take part in Val’s DRŌM^TM Energizer. I’ve never seen so many smiling faces. You could see on all their faces that they were erergized afterwards. I even heard one lady say later she’s usually uncoordinated but really enjoyed the drumming activity.

So, when I was asked to lead the biggest group I’ve ever led at the Health, Wellness and the art of Resiliency event for Inspiring Women, I knew the DROM Energizer would be a huge hit (no pun intended)! It’s easy, fun and gets everyone moving to the beat of their own inner drummer! Not only that, but the women did not disappoint! They ROCKED that ballroom! Even the skeptics (yes, I saw you tentatively pick up your drumsticks!) had a BALL, and so did I!

Being active is important. It helps our overall health, wellness and resiliency (mentally, emotionally and physically). And it’s important to find activities that keep you moving and having fun, not to mention mindful. A DROM Energizer is as simple as picking up a pair of drumsticks, putting on your favourite music and letting the rhythm allow you to play!

And that’s exactly what 651 of us did on last week! This amazing drumming experience still brings a HUGE smile to my face. Thanks to all who gathered at the Inspiring Women Event for helping make my dream come true! I truly do what I love and love what I do! Each of you are an inspiration to me.
